If you are purchasing a gun online under Federal Law it can only be shipped to a Licensed Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) also called a Gun Dealer. Who in turn handles the Federal and State required paperwork, ATF Form 4473 and the required FBI NICS Background Check. If you are in the High Point, NC or Triad Area and wish to have the gun shipped to an authorized FFL for Transfer. We here at Big Mike’s Guns can assist you. We will sign for and take delivery of the gun and handle all required ATF paperwork and processing to legally transfer the gun to you as the buyer. We only charge the small fee of $25.00 CASH or $30.00 CREDIT/DEBIT CARD per serial numbered gun to handle this process. We also will handle transfers for Local Sworn Active Law Enforcement Officers for FREE.
How to proceed with a online gun purchase transfer:
- The online seller will require that you provide them with the local FFL information for them to ship the gun to. Before you do this contact us using the info below to let us know who you are and what we should expect to be receiving on your behalf. Once you provide the Seller with our contact info they we reach out to us for a copy of our Federal Firearms License and shipping info.
- Once we receive the gun there are several steps of recording that we are required to follow as per Federal Law. Once we have completed this (usually within 2-4 hours of gun receipt) we will call or text you to come do the required paperwork on your end. You will need to bring your valid State Issued ID, such as Driver’s License, etc. and the address must be current. You may also be required t provide other ID in the event there is an issue with a DL. Also, if you hold a NC Concealed Carry Permit you will need to bring it as well, as that has been approved by the FBI/ATF to serve as the background check. If you don’t have a CCP then we will via computer submit your info to the FBI for the required NICS Background Check.

- ALL TRANSFERS ARE DONE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY! NO EXCEPTIONS!
- YOU MUST CALL OR EMAIL AND LET US KNOW TO EXPECT YOUR PURCHASE. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL $10.00 FEE ADDED TO THE $25.00 TRANSFER FEE.
- We will do Transfers for Active Local (Triad Area) Law Enforcement Officers (City/County/State/Federal, must show ID) for FREE!
